I’ve definitely decided on cat stuff. Especially figurines and cards. I already have so many, being that I’m a master crazy-cat-lady at the age of 18, so I’ll just start a collection.
How to start a collection

How I did it: I'm killing two birds with 1 stone!!! :D I'm not only learning (which works toward my goal of learning something new daily), but also at the same time completing another goal too! I'm using my goal to start a collection (a trading card collection) that I have now completed to learn something new everyday! I now have 200 trading cards within my collection (5 of them being Yugioh cards and the other 195 being NBA basketball cards), and I'm taking one a day to learn about the character on the card by reading the back stats of the basketball player and trying to memorize what I learned. I can also learn a lot about the NBA teams and their players and their player numbers and stats from the cards. As far as learning from Yugioh cards... I can learn battle strategies from them!
Lessons & tips: Buy trading cards!!! :) Trading cards are a GREAT collection idea! They're fun!

So, for Christmas, my friend Oscar got me a Disney Robin Hood snowglobe. Its beautiful! The “snow” inside are shaped like coins and the stand is a carriage with all the characters in it.

I bought myself an AMAZING lion king snow globe. It the scene where Simba is singing I just cant wait to be king and hes on top of the giraffes and all that.

I’d been talking to Dad about how I love to visit weird museums, but when challenged I couldn’t remember most of the ones I’d been too. I remembered the Banana museum in Tenerife. I remembered the Pasta museum in Rome. I mentioned that when I tried to visit the Penis museum in Reykjavik (on our last day there) it was closed.
I think I should really document these museum visits somewhere, and make sure I buy souvenirs.
So I started this collection today, when I visited the Northampton and Lamport Railway. I’ll make sure I blog them and tag them with ‘Museums’. I’ll keep a paper record in a notebook too.
And in doing so I’ve accomplished the second of the things to do in 2008

What to collect ?

I don’t really know what to collect, because I want to collect something useful. Not sweet wrappers, string or something weird like that. Something that will help others, get money from, or just be useful and intresting to collect.

My collections always start off with a sudden urge to put a lot of one thing in the same place. Now I have a key chain collection that’s 12 key chains strong.

I’ve been thinking about this goal off and on for years but wasn’t sure what I would want to collect. And today I realized I already have something started. Maybe that’s how it begins – you don’t start it intentionally, you just notice one day you are getting more and more of these whatevers and are drawn to them. I will see if I can get some good photos of what I have so far.
