How to write my research proposal

How I did it: Well, I didn't really. I messed up, so I'll probably have to do this again, but I''m relieved that I could at least show something to my teacher :s
I have been procratinating endlessly - I had my ideas reading in summer, but put it off to start researching my possibilities. Now I had only little time, and after a good start I found out that someone else had already research exactly what I wanted to write about! Very very frustrating...
I've written the proposal in the line of my first ideas, anyway, only made the 'research question' (how do you call this in English? ;)) a bit different, but now I'm not at all satisfied about it. Plus, the resources I need seem hard to get by. So I really have to get myself together, and start making a serious proposal after I get my feedback.. :(
Lessons & tips: START IN TIME!
check first if the topic you want to do research on is really 'free' - as in, no one else already answered your highly intelligent questions.
Focus on workability (is that a word? :D) - are you resources available?

Actually finished this in my first week of univeristy, so ages ago, but submitting time was only two days ago and i had minor revisions to it about a week ago. Done and out of the way, on to the next challenge.

...I have to :( In two weeks I have to put it in, and my teacher thinks I have been reading and reading and reading for the last 6 weeks. Uhm, think again! I have an idea, I have quite some literature, but I haven’t read more than, say, 10 pages. THAT SUCKS. So next week (=reading week) will be totally devoted to this goal. Hopefully :s
(Not working, the strange vibes I’m getting from the e-mails my potential thesis tutor.. I don’t know what he wants me to do; I asked him twice wether we should meet, but everytime he only answers other questions. so weird!)

OK, it’s done. I’ve written the proposal, got some corrections and feedback, and rewritten it.
I don’t know what I’m going to do if it gets approved. It doesn’t fit in with any of my other plans.

There’s a call for proposals out, and I have an idea that I would like to research. I have until the end of the month to write the proposal.
I don’t really have time for this, but I think it will be good practice in writing proposals.
