capturing the world in single frames 12 months ago

I just started photography and would be a dream come true to travel the world with her nikon d60 and just really capture every moment and cherish those memories having something to look back on and to show her kids and grandkids one day what went through the eyes of her mother/grandmother

I think the best way to do this is to become a flight attendant.

Beginning my trek 20 months ago

I break for Guatemala City on May 7th. I’m going photo-crazy, on this one, guys. 10 rolls of b&w, and 15 rolls of color. 40 days. Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.
    I CANNOT wait!

a few down, many more to go. 2 years ago

I have been really lucky when it comes to travel experiences. I have taken my camera everywhere with me since I was about 12. Some of the places I have visited and photographed are: various parts of China, Hong Kong, Alaska, France, Mexico, Honduras and Belize. I have also been to about 15 states and taken pictures there.
All of these photographs are now sitting idly on my computer. Does anyone know a site to post all of these photos on? I want people to be able to see the photos and maybe be inspired to travel to these wonderful places through the photographs.
My real wish is to be able to become a professional photographer, maybe for a magazine or travel book. I love seeing different lifestyles and traditions than the ones practiced in my country. It is so interesting to me to see things different from my own life. I hope I can professionally see all of these wonderful, worldly sights one day!

Start with what you have. 2 years ago

Since I cannot travel the world yet ($$, going into the military, etc)...I am using the resources I have- beautiful Florida landscapes and sea scapes…people, etc.
I have always done 35mm with an SLR, but I find myself bringing even disposable point and shoots along for those moments when the bulky SLR just won’t do. (Fishing on a pier- water and fish blood being a problem. Moments when the camera is just not available, etc).
I decided a long time ago, I would start taking more pictures, because my life was passing me by without any memories.
    I have been doing that.

i started my new goal, this weekend. I have beautiful pics of a sunflower farm i went hunting on. i’ll download them asap. there’s so much too photograph without having to travel far out of your country, even though that would be ideal.

I have taken on a new heirloom... 2 years ago

My mom’s Nikon FE-2. With all of the lenses and filters and gadgetry I’ll ever need while abroad or at home.
My mom has surrendered to a digital slr (yuck) and/or a digital point and shoot (double yuck)...so, I will carry on the legacy of film photography.
I am also purchasing a darkroom setup…!!!! Yay.
    Now….all I need is the world…

I was thinking of giving this up because I don't travel 'the world.' 3 years ago

But then I realized, so I live in the world right?? And I tavel local towns and surrounding states and the coast line – it’s all part of the world to photograph!!

Here’s a photograph from NYC heading to the Staten Island Ferry.
