finish the Christmas stockings

I started my sisters christmas stocking in late December .. since then I have worked on the stocking EVERY SINGLE weekday for 20 minutes. PLUS I just added in a afternoon Thursday for craft time with my mother in law.

Should I set a goal that this stocking will be done by July? ::crosses fingers:: 5 years ago

BOTH stockings are done .. meaning my niece (now age 4) and my sister. They were not done in time for Christmas Eve .. but while I was visitng I brought along the stockings to finish. Within two days they were both done and handed to the respective parties.

Niece at age 4 doesn’t really ‘get’ it. But my sister (goodness is she really late 30’s??? lol) loved the stocking.

Started this morning! Next sister (mid 30’s) ... and such said sister just informed me she’s pregnant. EGADS. Who had the idea to do these stockings anyway???

one more hour this morning and santa now has a boot.

Summertime mornings are starting to be wonderful.. kids are sleeping in longer, which means more time for me to work on this stocking. I may JUST make it in time for Christmas this year! 5 years ago

on number 57 out of 84.

Santa beard has just been attached. Beads, sequins, stuffing took one hour of time. It’s just amazing how quickly my hands get cramped so I had to stop.

off last week for vacation so I figured what the heck- I’ll take along my stocking. What a fantastically wonderful idea that was!

I had this brainaic idea to have a reminder sent to me by 43things. At least once a week, I have an email that reminds me ONCE AGAIN that I have not picked up this stocking since the last time.

I wonder .. if I turn OFF the reminder .. will I sit down and work on the stocking more often?? lol 5 years ago

worked on this last night. I just decided it was time to stop putting it off and I sat down for about an hour. Thing is, each piece takes so long to do. Perhaps this is why it doesn’t feel like much is getting accomplished!! 6 years ago

this stocking is never going to get done. I have full intentions but by the time the evening hits, I feel mentally drained.

But one at a time.

I started felt stockings for my nieces and newphews.. then added in their parents (my sisters and spouses). To date, I have COMPLETED four stockings.

This leaves a stocking for my niece age 3, my sister (sorry Jenny), and my mom cuz I’d love to do one for her.

Currently I am working on a stocking for my niece. I started it in January 2005 and then sorta kinda lost track of time!

TODAY, I resolve to work on this stocking for one hour each week. I’ll see how much I can get accomplished with this stocking!!! 6 years ago
