Minors drive me crazy indeed!
...Just keep on trying to be able to read the score…
Seems it a long way though!

Learning major and minor.
So complicated…
Here in the UK, if you want to go to any type of music college/university you have to have passed the Grade 5 music theory exam, usually anyway.
To help understand music theory I highly recommend ‘The AB Guide To Music Theory’ Part one and two by Eric Taylor. You can read these then put into practise what you’ve learnt by buying the ‘Music Theory In Practise’ books, also by Eric Taylor. These practise books come in grades 1-8 so you can build your way up. If you’re thinking of taking an exam, it’s a good idea to also buy practise papers. Good ones that I’m using to take grade 5 are the ‘Theory Of Music Examinations’ grade papers by The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM Publishing). All of these you could probably find online somewhere.
And what you’ll need to know for music theory is:
Key Signatures
The Tenor Clef
Time Signatures
Intervals
Transposition
Writing at concert pitch
Voices in Score
Instruments of the Orchestra
Naming Chords
Composing a melody
Cadences
General music questions
Musical Terms
Musical Signs
and maybe a few other things, although that’s all I remember off the top of my head.
Hope this has helped some.

i bought a book of music theory months ago,
but didnt open it yet!
ill make a fresh start!
IF you want to major in music in college, you must take a buttload of music theory. It’s fascinating to hear (and see) how songs are put together. It’s very analytical and not for everybody.
Music theory is not for everyone. (About half of my theory class dropped by mid-term). But for those with an analytical mind, puzzling out how to resolve chords, and modulte is way too much fun.
Long live the theory geeks!
