because I ADORE coffee. I had no intentions of giving it up or converting to tea, ever. I still have none….however, I am trying to cut back on the coffee and instead drink more herbal teas with no caffeine to aid in my digestion. My acid reflux is just too painful to ignore anymore….and the doc says coffee is an exacerbation.

Hmmm, see the thing is, I can’t do without my morning latte, but on particularly foggy-brain days I often add an extra long black to the mix. Then there’s the weekend cappuccinos, and a afternoon mocha never fails to perk me up. Then there’s those cheeky Irish coffees at midnight…
I just can’t do the tea thing.

I’ve found myself drinking more! But I’m trying to change that. Right now I REALLY want a coffee but having tea instead. Hopefully I can keep it down to just my morning coffee and then tea for the rest of the day.

Switching form coffee to tea has made me feel a lot healthier. I take in fewwer calories and I’m a lotless jittery. I still love the stuff though, but I’ve narrowed my coffee consumption to once or twice a week.

Giving up the coffee has been harder than I thought it would be. My “one cup of coffee, then switch to tea” method was not working very well at all. Once I started drinking coffee, I’d just keep refilling the cup because it was easier than making tea! So my new method is “cold turkey” – just start out with tea first thing in the morning and don’t even touch the coffee. So far 2 or 3 days of this and I am enjoying it so far. The only downside is a bit of a caffeine-withdrawal headache, since the tea I’m drinking is lower caffeine. But that will pass soon, I’m sure.
I bought a new tea (organic, fair-trade!) to inspire me in my efforts and it is VERY good. It’s this kind:
Gypsy King Chai by Zhena’s Gypsy Tea

Yum! There are lots of other flavors to try so this should help to keep me interested and away from the bad work coffee!

I don’t drink coffee, only tea, and rarely at that. I drink a lot of water and soda only when out for dinner or lunch. My body hates caffeine; I get headaches, my skin breaks out, and my tummy gurgles all day long. I’ve also found that I wake up easier and sleep better. But I love tea. A lot!

I’ve tried this before and I’m trying it again. 1 cup of coffee at work and then switch to tea for the rest of the morning. I never drink coffee or tea after lunch, unless I need it to warm up!
So this is my first day of the new system and it wasn’t hard. Eventually I want to wean myself completely off coffee and only drink tea, but this is the first step!
Now it’s afternoon so I’m on to water for the rest of the day (another goal – drink more water!)

Tea (real tea, not “sweet” or “iced” tea) is amazing. It is so much more refreshing in the morning than a cup of coffee. It wakes you up a hell of a lot faster, without the crash! Go for Honest Tea, that’s definitely my favourite.

I LOVE coffee. Love the smell, the taste, that warm fuzzy feeling I get :) hehe, j/k. But ya, I’m definately not cutting it out – but cutting down to ONE cup a day. After that, it’s green tea (or anything else but coffee). My stomach will definately thank me.
