lotzlisa achy!
I want to just express myself through art & not hate every thing I do.
I want to be able to paint a mural in my bedroom and have it look good! The wonder. I want my doodle’s to be masterpieces and full scale paintings to take mere hours!
well, i’d like to be better at throwing clay and quilting and photography. Maybe i should break my goal down into seperate more achievable concrete goals.
Was walking downtown this morning with some friends to go to the farmers market and totally forgot that today was “Block Party” All the stores and restaurants are out in the street and there are activities to do… I hula-hooped, ha-ha. But we walked my the music store and there it was a violin. I always wanted to play one and it was on sale. The only reason I didn’t buy it is because there is no violin teacher, he moved away and it is super hard to teach yourself. The music store is right next to where I work so who knows I might just buy it on a whim one day.
I had the day off and what started as a doodle in my book ended up being a very nice drawing.
It’s so weird, being a web designer, I thought I wouldn’t even want to touch anything “creative” or “artistic” outside of work with a 10 ft pole, but I miss traditional art—painting, drawing, or even just designing a site for myself instead of a client.
I thought this job would be much more satisfying in the creative outlet department, but it leaves me drained of my creativity and wishing I had more for personal benefit.
Ankou is in a bad, bad mood
Since I tend to find art (or at least artistic talent) in just about anything I figure this shouldn’t be too rough of a goal. The bigger problem is seeing the art in what I create…
Over the weekend I made some magnetic speech/thought bubbles for the fridge. Found a couple of good dry erase markers with magnets on them too so now I can slap photos on the fridge and write away!
I also have this wide belt that my girlfriend got with a dress she bought. She didn’t want the belt so I’m going to turn it into a hanging picture frame.
Is this really artistic or just crafty???
Basically, I thought of some crazy trippy things that I’m having trouble reproducing on paper. And I probably would have been able to do this 6 years ago.
