My current truck (which I sometimes feel that I live in) is a 1999 1 ton with a utility body and snowplow that I use almost exclusively for work. It doesn’t have a lot of miles (<70k) but it has been nothing but trouble since I bought it. For instance: changed all 10 coil packs, replaced rotted rear brake line, both rear brake calipers, both rear brake rotors, speed sensor, ball joints, 4wd hubs. Not too encouraging, especially since I'm a total masochist and insist on doing all this work myself. Next truck will most likely be a diesel, and it most definitely will not be the same make! Check out the picture, yes, the front spring is broken in half!
How to buy a new truck
How I did it: I decided a few months ago that I wanted a small truck. I finally decided on a Nissan Frontier with a crew cab. My husband and I looked around and found a 2008 Nismo at the dealership. I also wanted to see the 2009 version in red. We decided to get the truck in January when the better deals came out, but my car died so we got it sooner, We still got a great deal due to the current economy.
Lessons & tips: Shop around for a great deal. Decide an what model you want before you go to a dealer. Get what you want!

kmom2468 is knee deep in the hooah!
Boy, am I a BLESSED person. My current baby is a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 V8 with the sport package – in Flame Red, of course. She has 180 something thousand miles, now, but when I got her, she had less than 10 miles on the speedometer. Custom ordered her. It’s probably time to start thinking of another truck – something with 4WD – but I’ve grown attached to her – her seat is molded to my rear end after all those glorious miles together. She took a few years to pay off, but my husband has taken good care of her and she will probably carry me right through 200,000 miles with some pampering.
