My family has been doing this FOREVER, and it is definitey worth it… my great grandfather, who was a Harvard alumni, was the one who really kept it going- he documented our family tree in what I consider to be priceless books, and registered our family members in the historical society of New England as we were born…then it just continued to my mom… My great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather was Paul Revere, and possibly that is why my family is so dedicated to preserving my family tree… but the other side of my family is just as fun to research, even though they weren’t well-known… It is always great to discover, and know where you come from!
I discoverd a 23 page tree of my mother’s side written by my uncle. This will be my jumping-off point in my own discoveries. There is still a lot more find out.
....even ones that aren’t on my family tree!
My Polish-Russian roots
My West African roots
My Jewish roots
My gypsy roots
My Japanese roots
My grandparents came from Eastern Europe from a long line of horse thieves and pig farmers according to my mother. Based on that lively telling, I can pretty much reinvent my genealogy as is suitable for me.
