Feeling Hopeful wonders why the titles of many of my entries lately have been numbers.
I started reading Silas Marner this afternoon since none of my students showed up during my office hours.
How I did it: I started trying to read Silas Marner by using daily lit, but I found myself not reading the emailed sections of the book because I mostly have my computer on when I need to work, and I would skip them to read more important emails
Last week I purchased the book and set a goal for myself that it would be the next book I read. I then read it during my spare time.
Lessons & tips: Just choose a book, read it, and enjoy. After reading one of George Eliot's books, I now want to read others.
Resources: Originally daily lit, then amazon.com.

because I have at least 43 other things that are more important to me to do
Next action: locate my copy of Middlemarch (I know there’s one in the house somewhere) and put it on my ‘to read’ shelf
What an amazing book. I’ve also read Silas Marner, but I don’t remember it as well as the Mill on the Floss. If you like romance, comedy, countrysides, love, passion, honesty, and inner struggles – you will LOVE this book. I’ve always wondered why George Eliot chose to have a pen name. I had an essay in AP English about her and if my Grandmother hadn’t been an Eliot-phile, I would never have known she was a “she”. Thank god for Grandmothers.
