nitsanmy delivery took over 80 hours

and ended on the surgery table.
I am not giving up on that one.
the bad experience at the hospital only proved it right for me. 6 years ago

This was a highlight of my life. Birth doesn’t have to be painful. It can be one of the most beautiful experiences of your life. It was for me and my husband. I would love to help if anyone is having second thoughts. It’s so worth it 7 years ago

nitsanmet the midwife this morning

she is a great woman with tons of experience.
now hubby is getting a little worried, but i hope it is just a phase. he was very supportive until now, and he was very happy with the midwife and actually very pleased with the fact that she is extremely professional and not a total granola. i think it’s the fact that it becomes more realistic as time passes by and the fact that here in israel the government makes it more difficult both for the women and the midwives, and that the strong common belief is that it is very dangerous.
naturally we won’t do anything that threatens either mine or baby’s health, nor will i make decisions that are not in sync with my DH.

so cross fingers for us? :) 7 years ago

this is my first pregnancy, and i am very excited about the option of giving birth at home.
i had already contacted a midwife (one of the top midwives if not the best one in my area) and a great great doula (who is also a close friend)
the pregnancy is not easy, but the little child seems to be healthy and happy (touch wood) and we cross fingers that all will continue to go well and end in a lovely home birth.
we live really close to a hospital with a birthing center, but i wholeheartedly hope we will not have to use its services.
i was fortunate enough to attend a conference with Dr. Michel Odent and that just reinforced my already strong opionion that this is the right choice for us. 7 years ago

Three of my four children were born at home; two were water-births! Some things that are great about this are: not having to go anywhere while in labor, being able to have who-ever you’d like attend the birth (including older children), and freedom from unneccesary medical intervention. Definitely have a midwife or some type of labor support. 7 years ago
