Took a look on the county’s website to see what types of classes were being offered this summer but didn’t find any that I was interested in that were available in the evenings or weekends. Will need to find something that can be taken outside of my work schedule.
I’ll check some other sources.

As it turns out, a 3-hr long class on Thursday nights is not very feasible in my crazy life. So, I haven’t been to that class since the first one.
Now, I’m going to try and get myself to take yoga classes. I took a class when I was in grad school, and I loved it – its been a little more than a year now, and I would like to get back into it. So, this is my goal for classes now – yoga classes.

I had my first class tonight, and it was great! A mix of people, an excuse to get out into a new part of the city, something to do outside of work, a new skill to develop. I’m thrilled to be doing something new.

I registered for a Beginner’s Conversational Mandarin class with the city college yesterday! The class starts in two weeks, and I am excited – both to be learning Mandarin, and to be doing something new… I am one of those people who always loved school, and taking classes, etc etc. So, I am viewing this as a treat for myself, as well as a way to kind of pry some of my life away from my job, which can be all-consuming.
To complete this Thing, I have to go to a few of the classes. I’ll keep y’all posted…

I looked at the spring schedule for one of the community colleges in my city – the classes that jumped out at me are botany, computer programming, chinese, and german. I already speak some German, I would like to learn some more Chinese, I have never taken botany or any computer science. BUT there are often free classes at work on intro to different programming languages, so maybe I should save that for work. Botany, however, sounds really interesting, I have still never taken a “big” biology class, and have really only ever taken one biochemistry class. Hmm, I’ll have to think on it. But at least I’ve taken the first step, looking at the available classes. Woo!
