go on a picnic

My two girlfriends and I had a picnic on Saturday, outside in the sun. Gorgeous salads, fresh fruit, and hummus with veggies. I’m happy I got this in at least once this summer!

I had a wonderful day yesterday. We started out wanting to pay a gas and electric bill but it was too late because it was closed. So, Wal-Mart is right next door to the company, and I needed to buy flowers for the graves of my loved ones which so far sounds not too happy. We proceeded to go to Corning to put flowers there at St. Mary’s Cemetery. I am always so happy when I have that finished, my husband did this deed and now I am carrying on his loyalty. From there, my daughter and I went to Wegman’s to grab a camera and found ourselves at the salad bar trying everything and bought too much. Corning is a wonderful area to enjoy a peaceful afternoon. We stopped at Aniello’s and got one of their famous pizzas, and took the pizza to a beautiful spot next to a live band playing. We ate and listened to music. After we ate, their was a bridge we walked and had fun with the maze they provided on the bridge. The bridge has a plaque on it that honors my husband’s grandfather. It turned out to be a very enjoyable day indeed.

We will go the park with our littleredridinghood-esque picnic basket, filled with crusty French bread, some cheese slices, grapes, and apple juice. Maybe a brownie or two. We will sit on our blanket in the sun and take our shoes off. And, of course, take lots of silly pictures :)

I love picnics! It is unseasonably warm this weekend, with highs in the 80s. We went out to Harris Hill, the soaring capital of the world, and a beautiful picnic spot, to have a picnic tonight.

We got there a little late in the night, and it was getting dark by the time we got there. Luckily, someone had already used the barbecue earlier and the coals were still red hot.

So, we got to eat while it was cool, rather in the hot heat, and got to watch a beautiful red sun set behind us. It was wonderful!

call me weird but ive never really been on a true picnic. (like with the plaid blanket, picnic basket and all). like ive been on cookouts and parties for sports and stuff that they call a “picnic” but i just want to go on a traditional one.

ha, that probably sounded really pathetic but i am determined to go on a picnic someday!

I’ve seriously never been on one before…

I did this on Tuesday 6 November with my love. It was perfect at Parque Ibirapuera where we sat among the ducks by the pond and had light snacks. We spent the time enjoying the day, the beauty and each other.
It was wonderful!

Grab a few friend, a blanket, some good traditional junk food and an umbrella depending on how organized you’re feeling, and find somewhere pretty.

There’s just something abot picnics that make me happy ^.
