Cures for Melancholia? 2 years ago

I think that building up a network of good social contacts, good friends can be a great way to provide yourself with support when you get into lifes choppy waters.

I’m a romantic sort, as a consequence I like to date a lot, for fun and looking for love, it can lead to a lot of disappointment and the blues, feeling melancholy and I think that friends can be and are to me a great help at times like that.

A sort of stumbling... 3 years ago

    On this goal I guess.

I recently got banned from an online forum that I’d joined, I thought things where going great and I was debating topics with people and stuff.

Then it all went pear shaped and I got banned, I was very surprised since I was just stating my opinion, wasnt asking everyone to think alike but I got banned anyway.

I was a little concerned because I’d shared personal difficulties with the people there, I thought we where on friendly terms with one another, in the posting running up to getting banned they brought it up asked me if I was my own worst enemy.

Now some good friends of mine came to my assistance and told me not to worry about it, that there seemed to be a lot of drama and friction between members on that forum, including a banning of two people before me and perhaps they had become defensive or closed ranks.

I guess I’m always learning how groups interact and work all the time, in the virtual world as much as in the real world.

How To Win Friends And Influence People 3 years ago

    by Dale Carnegie

It can appear really dated but its 100% correct, the recommendation that you listen, listen, listen and then listen some more, taking a sincere interest in people is correct.

I’ve read lots of other books since then on psychological, social relationships or interpersonal skills topics and they say similar things.
