learn how to apply eyeliner

I’d love to be able to do proper 1960s eye make up!
I’ve been practicing applying eyeliner and I’m getting a bit better but I always end up with each eye looking completly different!

in front of the bathroom mirror. But I still look like I got in a bar fight.

I think I look too stupid when I do my own to EVER consider going out with it on. :)

Once you know how it gets easier, but learning in the first place is a little tricky.

Pull up your eyelid and put it right at the base of your eyelashes with a pencil liner. If you don’t know what your doing, a thick line isn’t going to look good. Don’t go all the way around. On the top, stop a few centimeteres on the outside, it’ll still look like you lined the whole top of your eye.
On the bottom, it looks best if you line the outer half, no matter how think the line is.

It took me for forever, but I finally got it down. Thank God for WikiHow, lol.

A year ago I was really hopeless at this. It just takes practice, and with different kinds of eyeliner. My biggest tip is, even if it’s just for practice, to buy a quality brand. When I first started learning, I thought I’d be cheap and buy the economy brand until I could do it properly; big mistake! You get what you pay for, and it’s definitely easier to get the hang of it with something made by a name you recognize.

I was a total makeup newbie until recently, so if I can do it, anyone can. :)

I’ve been doing it for about 2 or 3 years now. Its hard at fist and it hurts your eyes. But with practice it doesn’t hurt anymore. My advice: Don’t use liquid eyeliner when you first start. Use pencil. Its hurts less.

My parents hate when i wear it but i mean come on it looks awesome…. the only problem is i can only do the bottom of my eyelid like in the eye other wise i go down too low and i can’t do the top either…. but people refrain from calling eyeliner emo or punk or gothic or w/e any1 can where it and make it a part of themselves _“

With some practice, even though I still need a mirror.
I wear thick eyeliner and smudge it so it fades into my face, the “Goth/emo” look.
That’s way easier to do that a straight solid perfect line.
