First stage towards completing this task has begun! Obtained a lovely ladies mountain bike yesterday via my local Freecycle. Just got to get a helmet and I’m off!

I really need to be able to afford to buy a bike first! It’s mainly for fitness but I’d like to go cycling with my husband, my little girl and my little boy and friends, as they all go off without me!
Was watching kids earlier when I was waiting in traffic, they were on their bikes and they were so happy! It made me remember my little polly pocket bike I used to have!
wanderingtheworld is moving this week to NY!
I got a pink beach cruiser for Christmas, not even knowing for sure if I could still ride a bike. But I can!! I even rode so fast my 8 year old couldn’t keep up! My bike is so pretty. It’s pink with a white basket on front, and I want to buy a sliver bell for it.
This summer the kids and I have taken our bikes everywhere. I’ve biked as much as 10 miles in a day (this is huge for me) and I can’t believe what a gift it has been to have this back in my life. I never thought my health would come back to the degree it has!!
We went biking yesterday beside a local river and saw Great Blue Heron and other wonderful birds.
My son just got his first bike, so it’s time to drag mine out of the shed, dust it off and give it a go. It’s been close to 10 years since I really rode a bike, so this might be painful!
When I was a kid, riding a bike was likely the most exhilarating experience ever. Probably up until my family moved when I was thirteen, I was always on my bike.
Now that I’m older and busier, I feel like I need something to reconnect me to my childhood, I need more excercise, and definitely simplicity. I guess my first task will be to scour around for a new bike…
loved it!!! I rode my bike from Queen st in Toronto down to the beaches, it was so much fun. I hadnt rode a bike since i was 13!! thats 5 years ago, i was really wobbly at first but it got easier, i will hopefully do it again soon.
I haven’t been able to ride a bicycle since I was twelve years old. My left hip became deformed during a growth spurt and no longer rotates properly. I was told recently that I might be a candidate for a corrective osteotomy to fix my hip, which now has arthritis, but I will have to lose a lot of weight to really be a good candidate for the surgery.
