make wise choices

but in reality I always think I’m making a wise decision at the time. So though I am finished with this goal, I’m not really giving up or satisfied that it is completed. But it needs to be off my list because I can’t exactly work on it.

I have been far too depressed for far too long, not seeing any way out of this perpetual state of fatigue. But one day I just realized that I was choosing to feel that way, or at least I was choosing to maintain that feeling. I guess you could say in a way I wanted that pain. We often don’t realize how even the smallest of discisions we make in our lives can affect us tremendously. I was depressed because of a failed relationship with my ex-girlfriend. I am not completely over my depressive status, but I have seen how my decisions and choices have affected my life, hers, and the lives of those around both of us. I read where Tony Robbins once said to himself “I am much more than I am demonstrating emotionally, mentally and physically.” And how true it was for me. I am more than I a am demonstrating, so I decided that I will try to make better choices in my life, not merely for my benefit alone, but for my benefit and for others also.

There are more reasons than just myself to make wise choices. Sometimes I forget how my choices may effect other people, as well as myself. So making wise choices is about using our power for good and not evil. At times I fail, but I intend to make wise choices, and to learn from the times when I don’t.

Yet I don’t always make wise choices. For years I thought that if I went with my head – what logic would dictate – that would be the wise choice. Yet I think I am beginning to see that not all choices should be made that way. For some, leading with the heart is wise.
