Tis written!
Addressed! Now to put the proper postage on it for sending accross the pond and it is off like a messenger to the old world.
This vassel hopes and awaits any sign of its tidings bringing kind reception by its sole audience.

My mind was in a higher state the other night and while researching the myths of ancient greek literature and listening to a new CD of rodrigo and gabriela, I also wrote out my letter to Mr. Pinter in one full swoop. Ta Da! Done. Happy with the results.
Now I have a few days left to find out how to get him the letter. Its not like writing Santa Claus where you just write the North Pole and it gets whisked there pronto.
No fear, I have plans within plans afoot to accomplish this and I will not be foiled!

Okay. I admit it. I did not write Mr. Pinter and congratulate him. I told everybody I knew and did not know about how happy I was that he won, and often these people looked at me like I was talking about the mating habits of African Dung beetles and they would often just nod their head looking for the quickest way to say, “Oh my, look at the time, I really must be off to the cinema. There is a showing of Big Momma and Big Momma 2 back to back. Sorry, must be off.”
I even acquired the address of Mr. Pinter’s agent and could very well have sent him my congratulations via my Amnesty International connections/background. However, I felt too much like a groupie cad. So, one of these days when I have written a decent play I am proud of and have the chance to speak to the master playwright, I shall gush my congrats then.
When I saw Niel Labute (a damn good playwright himself) this last month he mentioned that he had had the chance to sit in on Mr. Pinter directing a play. Lucky punk. I only wish.

To be Pinteresque, My Heart is proudly giddy. Pinter getting a Nobel Prize restores my faith in humanity. Maybe good can triumph over evil. Stoppard won an Oscar. Now Pinter wins a Nobel. Maybe there still is something to be said for this craft they call playwrighting. What am I going to write???? Hmmm. Should be a fun challenge.
