see a whale in the ocean

The first time was in 1986 off of Cape Cod. We took a whale watching expedition. I remember one whale coming right up to the boat and giving us the eye.

Most recently I saw whales while on our Alaskan cruise. In some places like Glacier Bay you could see them from the ship.

While we were in Juneau we went on a small boat out into the bay and were able to see a lot of whales out there, up close and personal. The small boat was nice because we could stop to watch them, and then follow them if we wanted to, as long as we maintained a reasonable distance.

to see a whale in the Atlantic Ocean the same day I saw the coast of Dakar. I was sailing from Ascension Island to Tenerife. It was a such a memorable day!
