son wanted to play scrabble with us yesterday evening. I had to remind otherhalf that son is only 7 and hasn’t played adult scrabble before, so no championship standard plays!

Played last night for the first time since our vacation in August. The game was really close, and we were tied just before Dan’s final turn. He won by 12 points.

We’ve played Scrabble twice in the past week. Tonight I gained an early lead, only to mostly lose it and get stuck with the Q at the end. I ended up barely winning by ten points.

On Thursday we are leaving for a long weekend on the South Carolina coast, and Scrabble is coming with us.

We played last Sunday for the first time in a while. It was a good game because the lead kept changing—at one point Dan was ahead by quite a bit, but I ultimately came from behind and ended up with an all-time personal Scrabble best: high 300s!

And, for the first time ever, I used all seven tiles in a single turn! (My word was “maroons.”)

have I managed to play since making this goal. Perhaps having the goal actually undermines the likelihood of me playing scrabble.

we just ended up talking. It was really fun, but not working towards this goal at all. It also turns out that the couple we had over has a new house rule: no playing scrabble with each other. Maybe we can get together and the guys can play and the women will herd the small child.

We’ve got a plan and a night and people coming over to share it with us so it won’t be an agonizingly long night of suffering defeat at my husband’s hands. They’re even good, so J isn’t guaranteed a win.

No one else can come unless they bring pizza and a keg. I don’t have enough food for everyone. And a plate. Bring a plate if you show up. And no one is to criticize my housekeeping skills or my inability to use the letter Q without a U.

Since I’m struggling with the time commitment (or something) involved with scrabble, I proposed backgammon last night and we played 2 games, one very close, but J won both.

J suggested I’d get a lot of cheers if I switched this goal to “give my sweetie more blow jobs” but I’m just way too embarrassed to find out- even though the thought does amuse me.
