How I did it: Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. And even more waiting.
My dad (being a big sci fi fan) always goes to FACTS (a much smaller version of Comic Con in Belgium). Last year (2011), about a month before it started, I went downstairs and my dad said those magical words: "Tom Felton is coming to FACTS!".
Didn't take much more effort, all I had to do was buy tickets! Stand in line for his autograph and to take a photo (trust me, it were loooong queues!). And pay far too much money for the two, but it was definitely worth it!
