Solena D.Gratitude flows

• first of all, a slightly selfish gratitude: despite the horrible, horrible events in Norway, I’m happy B came home safe on July 22nd, of all days, and that he was nowhere near Oslo or Utoya

• when I stepped on the inside of my long summery skirt while getting on the bus, I managed to wiggle my other foot out, and not show my knickers to the entire bus. Phew!

• the plants on my balcony and my poor little garden that keep on struggling and thriving despite the lack of effort on my part this year (due to crazy work hours and various illnesses) and even crazier weather

• my therapist. Her tough love and wise guidance. The sincere laughs shared and endless list of things she taught me already.

• being on hols, plans for daytrips and enjoying the slow motion of days, for a change

• T & M: their solid friendship and shared enthusiasm as they make plans for moving out (finally!). I will miss them when they go, but they will only be an hour drive away.

• the steady flow of income and plans for buying a new (used) car. Exciting!

• big comfy reading chair my mum gave us. This woman’s pockets are full of miracles, I swear.

• the opportunity to see Russian Cossak State Dance Company on stage on Sunday. They redefine passion and perfection and they totally blew my mind. Beyond awesome. 22 months ago

maromeraIn vacations

- Detox and healing. Finding excellent doctors that combine traditional medicine with alternative methods at a fair price.
-No migrain.
-Having a heartfelt conversation with my father. I haven’t really talked to him in ages. We are even going to have a trip together. I believe it’s time to forgive my father’s family for the way they behaved during my parents divorce.
-Roses in bloom in my garden.
-A love that keeps growing no matter the distance.
-Sharing a great time with my friend A. and her beautiful family in la Calera. Going together to a puppets play.
-Humanity’s team meetings, conversations and readings that nurture the soul.
-Enjoying Harry Potter movies. 23 months ago

maromeraFinally,...

I finished all the documents, plans and reports I had to give to be able to go on vacations. I feel lighter and happier , and I’m also very proud of myself because I could cope wih work pressure and emotional turmoil for the departure of my fiance. It was hard, but I faced all the problems and I didn’t give up. :) 23 months ago

Solena D.Somewhere beyond the sea

• on Saturday shelagh_c joined me virtually on my first swim of the season. We had a great time, and B didn’t seem to mind my invisible friend :)

• salty kisses and lazy conversations

• coming home from the beach, my heart sank in a matter of minutes and I wasn’t able to shake the feeling off for hours. B was supportive and sweet and understanding as humanly possible. What more could I want?

• scallion pancakes and sour cherry wine for lunch today

• a small sunflower on my balcony!

• happy and beautiful e-cards in my inbox today. Thank you! 1 year ago

Solena D.The Mediterranean on my balcony

• the intoxicating smell of basil, sage, lavender and imortelle on my balcony on sweltering hot days like today

• being strong enough to scythe half of our biggest meadow in one afternoon (without having to touch my Father’s precious electric mower, ha!)

• my nephew’s happy voice on the phone, telling me about the great fun he’s having on the beach

• being off work

• happy news of pregnancies

• B and his smiling face. He’s currently in the kitchen baking a wild strawberry pie while listening to an opera. Gotta love this man.

• waking up in the morning without the dark cloud hanging over my head, for the first time in my life, ever. Thank you antidepressants. 2 years ago

maromeraJune 1st 2011 Paradise now!

-I was admiring one drawing of a cat done by one of my students and she asked if I wanted one drawing for me. She said that she was going to use white paper, so my cat won’t have the lines from the notebook pages.

-Feeling productive and clever at a meeting at work today.

-Listening to my soul. Attending Humanity’s Team meeting instead of going home. Cellebrating finishing the reading of the first book we studied. Learning to discover that paradise is right here, right now. 2 years ago

Solena D.Birthday joy

• Spending all day with my nephew on Sunday, watching him eat Nutella and bacon – all things that feel just right when you’re almost 5, but not yet.

• Being grown-up enough to accept that when my father forgets my birthday (again), it really is his loss, not mine.

• B’s birthday present for me: a large trasure chest I had my eye on for some time now, and in it my favourite things – a book, a flower in a pot and lots and lots of chocolate ♥

• Warm heart-shaped waffles and a mountain of B’s famous and delicious cheese biscuits.

• T & M coming over in the evening, bearing chocolate truffles, my favourite fizzy drink and tons of laughter.

• Sweet messages and wonderful wishes from my 43T friends who never fail to make me smile and feel accepted and welcome. I cherish and thank each and every one of you. 2 years ago

Solena D.A long happy list

• Spring on my balcony – the herbs my nephew and I planted last year, the beautiful flowers and seedlings, all growing and glowing again.

• The Raise. The feeling of self confidence that came from working well under pressure.

• My Mum’s birthday yesterday – seeing her happy and joyful (and enjoying all the fantastic food she prepared).

• Cutting down trees, making HUGE progress, and growing stronger. I have serious muscles in my upper arms now. Childhood dream revisited: I want to be a lumberjack. I do.

• New books. Devouring Margaret Atwood’s work like there’s no tomorrow.

• 43T friends who stayed. Lessons learned about dialogue and patience.

• B.- all the love, understanding, attention and togetherness, in just one person. 2 years ago
