I keep forgetting about this goal.
17 today.
How I did it: Each day I pushed myself to do as many push ups as I could, I surprised myself how fast I built up to 50+
Press-ups actually use some of your lesser used weak muscles, so don't be surprised how pathetic your first few attempts are, you will increase dramatically.
Lessons & tips: Just keep trying for more each day.

going to try to improve the quality of the pushups and then work on the quantity. not that the quality is bad, im pretty i sure i go 90 degree angle but its not like im watching the angles. is that how far you are supposed to go? i want to try to get as low as i can to the floor on each but is that bad for your elbows? ...

this is odd cause rowing season ended from this summer till the fall and i havent been doing much at all for a couple weeks. i tried this randomly tonight and did 30 that were all pretty strong. i had decided to do 20 but felt good and went for 30. why is it that i can do this now but not before when i was training all the time?!

As usual, my last couple of push-ups were pretty pathetic, BUT not that long ago, my pushups arounds the mid 20 mark were pretty pathetic, so it shouldn’t be too long until I doing 50 strong pushups.
I am going to keep up with doing 50 in the morning, not sure I’m ready to start increasing it just yet…
Really happy that I used 43T for this, probably wouldn’t have done it otherwise :)

so I made it to 40 (80% !!!), but it’s getting really hard… The fact that I have a number to work towards is about the only thing that keeps me going.
My arms are looking more defined though, but as I’m doing some stuff at the gym, I can’t say that it’s just from the pushups…

so I’m not doing a daily entry, BUT I am still progressing with my plan…
here’s the numbers for the last few days:
sun – 20
mon – 22
tue – 24
wed – 0 – was too sore about double class at the gym
thu – 26
It is definitely getting harder to get to the higher numbers (and usually my last one is quite pathetic!), but I am finding I can push through, because I know I can do the number I did the day before, and once I get there I push through the last day…

so far so good… And strangely enough I am even looking forward to the next morning, yesterday (16) I even decided to do 16 at night as well – I now am doubling my daily “allotment”.
So far this is looking really achievable, but I am slightly worried I might reach a plateau (since my husband put the idea in my head!!) Will keep on going, any amount of push-ups on a daily basis is better than none :)
