take my kids to New York

A week wasn’t enough time, but we did get to visit with family and my old high school friends and their kids, and we saw:

(1) The Donnell library where they saw the original Winnie the Pooh , and most of Christopher Robin’s actual dolls which inspired the books…

(2) Little Red Lighthouse , which inspired the book by Hildegaard Swift

(3) The Central Park Zoo

(4) The Natural History Museum: dinosaurs, “dum-dum” Easter Island head, big blue whale, etc.

(5) The Met, including roof garden, Temple of Dendur, and impressionists, and some more

(6) ate delectable desserts in Little Italy

(7) saw street performers at South Street Seaport

(8) St. Patrick’s cathedral, wish we had made it to St. John the Divine (my favorite)

(9) walked through Chinatown, Soho, the Village, Rockefeller ctr, and the upper west side

(10) and of course, most of what they remember is the food! 4 years ago

Lots done, and lots more still to be done – some other time!! 4 years ago

to show my kids where I grew up, and they’re excited to see the museum from the “Night at the Museum”. And I think they’ll also like my favorite museums: The Cloisters, the Guggie, maybe Goethe House? And have them meet my old friends and their kids. 4 years ago

my eldest is going to visit my cousins in NYC.

I’m sure they’ll give him the full tour.

I’d still like to give “my version” to all the kids. 5 years ago
