My wife and I are looking to move to Europe, we are interested in doing International Volunteer work, along with Environmental, and Human Rights activism. We are not set on any one country, and are trying to work out all the details on visas, permits, and passports. In regards to America, well I am a citizen of the earth and think patriotism is a load of nonsense. Emma Goldman once said
“Patriotism … is a superstition artificially created and
maintained through a network of lies and falsehoods; a superstition that robs man of his self-respect and dignity, and
increases his arrogance and conceit.” So it pretty much boils down to “Patriotism is the willingness to kill and be killed for trivial reasons.” – Bertrand Russell
Besides the fact that the Right-wing and conservatives are destroying america, we have both always dreamed of travelling the world and figure what an excellent place to be, in the center essentially.

I’ll leave it to the religous fanatics. Why is it that due to an accident of birth and geography, I have to “love” my country? I abide by the social contract, but I think they get a better deal in Europe and Canada.
