visit more art galleries

last weekend the newtown artist space had it’s annual open day.. it’s a gorgeous space (might have been an old small school or something?) that is divided up into little studios, and there are 25 artists who all have studios there!

They’re all so different – some did sculptures, painting, photographer, art, whatever.. it was such a nice day wandering around.

we have an ART & ABOUT exhibition running all around sydney this month, including massive artworks in Hyde Park.

Miami Art Museum year pass, here I come.

at the sydney museum, is something i really want to check out. so i’ll be there soon.

can’t wait.

Took our baby daughter to the National Gallery and tried showing her the beautiful paintings on the wall – but she thought the ceiling was WAY more interesting ; )

Future Art Critic????

i’m off to some galleries in glasgow with my class on tuesday. i’m excited, there are a few galleries all grouped together, making it nice & easy to see as much as possible. yaaay!

Yes!! I actually did it – I went out and galleried it up and it was lovely. I love doing that kind of thing on my own, knowing that I can take my time and look at whatever I want. Next stop, Florence!

I will go to one tomorrow afternoon… or actually today if I get a free minute. That would be awesome.

i’ve been to a few exhibitions in the past few days, hooray! on monday night i went back to my old high school to see an exhibition of the school & associated primary schools works. they even had a piece by me up, which was nice of them.

on tuesday my boy & i made our way to an art centre near our art college with the intent of seeing if a new exhibition was up, but discovered there wasn’t exactly a show, more of a taking part thing leading up to a show, but we were on our lunch break; i wanted to havea look, but we didn’t really have time.

on wednesday my boy & i took a trip to edinburgh to view a show by two of my (& his) favourite artists. there weren’t many pieces on show, but we enjoyed seeing the work close up, most of the stuff i hadn’t seen before either, plus we bought a few things, yay.

today some work by the first years in my art college had been put up, & looking at those pieces was swell.

hooray for art.

i always tend to enjoy art galleries, even if i’m not fond of what’s being shown; i like the atmosphere & creativity. there aren’t all that many galleries in my city, so i’d like to go out of my way to see more in places such as edinburgh & glasgow.
