The pie turned out perfectly – it was a hit with family and friends! I made the Mixed Berry Pie from my “vintage” 1972 Betty Crocker cookbook. I felt very 1950s housewife-y but I liked it! If only I had a rich husband, I could stay home and be a pie making domestic diva. Martha Stewart look out.

The quiche I baked this weekend turned out great – perfect consistency/firmness. I baked it about 30 minutes longer and put some foil around the crust which I removed 20 before I took it out so it would not get burned. Great success! Now, I need to tackle a TRUE pie!
Which is sort of like an egg/cheese pie. . . turned out a little soggy and waaaay too salty. A bit of a disappointment.
Found out a culinary diva friend has made a pie and she offered to assist me with this goal!!
I wish I had paid more attention to learning how to do this when my grandma was still alive. Bless her heart!
Is there anything more delicious and homey than pie? I think not. I know it’s very Martha Stewart and that’s not really me, but I have one of the greatest treasures ever known to woman kind and that is a good husband and he said he would love it if I would make him pie sometimes. So, despite my desire not be Betty Crocker, like mom wants me to be, I want to do this for him necause he loves me and works so hard for us. I will find a recipe this week.
