I just finished reading Jarhead. I agree with Christine that the book was a very fast and good read. I grew up in a military town and I know a lot of people in the military. I already knew some things that were written in the book and I also learned about some things that I haven’t heard before. I’m interested in seeing how they will put this story into a movie.
I checked out Jarhead: A Marine’s Chronicle of the Gulf War and Other Battles by Anthony Swofford at the library today. The book I’m currently reading is The Fellowship of the Ring, but I’m going to put that an hold for a little while because I want to read this first since the movie is coming out soon.
ceesmiles is getting ready to run another 5K race; 5K has become usual run
but it might be too anti-warrior for some readers. It was also a very fast read and quite intense. I am looking forward to the movie.
