take college classes during high school

Im currently a junior at Prentiss high School…
I want to take online college class during my last year of high school.

i think it could be cool to go to college and high school at the same time its cool b/c we could finish high school and college at the same time

I really want to be in the music buisness but I think I should have a stronger or more realistic back-up. I’m thinking maybe a major in Communications or maybe Journalism but I am not sure yet. So, I want to take callege classes to get me ahead of the game and to get things out of the way so I can have more time in my life after high school to do what I want or enjoy. Like being in the music buisness. Another thing I’m interested in is being in the Film Industry but still do something with my music.

Doing Running Start full time was probably one of the best things I could have done this year. I was frustrated and tired of the high school environment. I think the only bad thing about it is that I’ve kind of been disconnected from everyone I knew from high school. Sometimes I forget the things I need to do for graduation that everyone that is still at the high school gets reminded to do on a daily basis. But that’s not enough of a downside for me. If I had the chance go back in time and do my senior year all over again, I’d do it all over again.

Taking college classes in high school is an awesome opportunity. For one thing, getting your basics out of the way rocks. It just does. Sometimes these classes are easier at a community college, and you just might be able to graduate college early or take that elective class you really want to take someday.

Also, the big plus for me was learning how college works. I had been so terrified I wouldn’t be able to keep up in a college class, and it was a huge relief to find that I could. College is a different animal from high school and it can be time-consuming, but I strongly encourage any bright high school kid to do this. (Just make sure it won’t mess up your scholarships!)
