Travel across north america

I put this together the other day. This is the map of my travels since August 1st of 2006. The red is hitchhiking, the green is the only set of flights I’ve taken. In order to cover this much ground, I was never in the same place for more than 5 weeks, and usually no more than two.

Well, in the last year I’ve been on the West and East Coasts, from as far north as Oregon on the West Coast, New York on the East, and as far South on both coasts to the fine country of Panama. Canada excepting, I feel comfortable to say I’ve “traveled across North America”. Especially since I’m not done. But I’ve done the edges, just a bit of filling in to do.

well, to be honest, i had totally forgotten about this site. I’ve been doing way more important things, and forgot i was even a member, or that it existed. i ended up spending 12 days in the green mountains of vermont, and then went accross new york state, across southern ontario, through michigan and spent a couple weeks in wisconsin. after that i went through illinois and indiana, and spent a couple days with some of my bros in Lexington KY, then went home for a couple days. after that i went to atlanta for a week, and now i’m in south western florida, working at a fruit stand and staying with some people i met on the road. all of this is hitch hiking, btw, and it’s been incredible.

Unless I lose my composure, tomorrow I quit my job, cancel my cell phone, and begin an amazing adventure. My first destination is Vermont to a rainbow family gathering. That’s some 1100+ miles for me, I’m hoping to get there within the week. I’m not taking any reefer or any other illegal substances, because longhair’s like me get enough crap from the po. I’ll be checking in occasionally and leaving stories (most likely via public libraries). Alright, I’m out, I have lots to do.

I would love to travel abroad for an extended time, but first, I really want to fulfill my wanderlust of North America, specifically the western states. I won’t take train, plane, or automobile, I’m really wanting to walk/hitchhike it, just bum around, and pick up the occasional odd job to finance the whole thing.

i am from texas and i love alot of the bands that come out of Portland. i wanna live there but first i want to travel there.
