get a flu shot

Today I got the seasonal flu shot. And I also arranged for the one against H1N1/09 today in one week.

I finally called the doctor’s office on Monday. And wouldn’t you know it, I got yet another version of things. Apparently the common population can’t even get the Swineflu vaccination yet, despite a very low number of eligible people actually getting it at this point.

I gave in yesterday and will get the shot for the seasonal flu, at least, next Monday. I don’t want to wait any longer with the number of sneezing people increasing on the subway…

The news here have been full of conflicting articles about the flu shots. And it is hard to get any real facts. If the government is really trying to get people to have these shots, they’re doing it wrong…

I find it difficult to find a time where I could call my doctor to ask these questions, when I’m not at work. I’ll try again sometime next week.

Today I finally called my doctor to ask how best to handle the two kinds of flu shots. Of course I get the machine saying they’re on vacation this week…

So, I’ll try again next week.

I feel good enough again, that I thought I’d try to make that appointment early next week. However I just read something that recommends getting the A(H1N1)2009 shots first… I guess I’ll have to do some more research here.

an appointment to get the H1N1 vaccine later this month (14 October): hope I can get some protection before I get exposed to the virus (it’s running rampant around here). sigh

... as I’ve come down with a stomach bug this week, bleh-bleh !

Got my flu shot today, as I do every year (although earlier than usual this time). So now we’ll see if it helps to protect me against all those damned germs…. wry grin

The last couple of weeks my life has been pretty much 100% cats and work.

I really need to find some time again to do other things, fun and not-so-much.

And one of these is to make my appointment for my yearly flu shot. I’ll try to have this done by the end of next week at the latest.

The nurse was kind and had a gentle touch, and I didn’t pass out (I hate getting shots). Here’s hoping that it helps to keep me healthy throughout the winter (that’ll determine whether or not it was worth it).
