It’s done and I’m glad because I was getting tired of focusing on that story all the time!
I know I still have a lot of work to do if I actually want to make it a novel that I can attempt to submit to a real publishing firm, but I’m taking a while off.

It’s getting a little harder now because I’m at the part where Teresa’s father passes away. This is taken almost exactly from my experience two years ago and it just hurts to write about it. It’s exhausting! But I’ll get through it, and move on to the next part which is fictional and should be easier on the emotions.

Time’s been scarce this week so I’ve fallen behind on my writing schedule, but I made a good dent in my backlog last night. My protagonist, Teresa, signs up on an online dating site and she is going out on a bunch of one hour coffee “dates” with gentlemen. One date happens to be next door to a tarot reader so he suggests they step next door and have their cards read. That was a good 5000 words right there! The neat thing is that I did an actual reading for Teresa and the cards worked out perfectly. It was a little eerie actually; almost like she’s a real person. hmm…

I’m over the half-way hump!!! WOOOO!!!!
Am I excited or what? Man, this poor woman in my story. But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right?
Yep, keep telling yourself that Teresa!

The last few days have been tough because I’m having my house tented for termites. My writing time has been limited to snatches of time taken here and there as I could fit them in. My schedule called for me to have 15,400 by the end of today (Tuesday, Nov 6), but I’m too tired to continue tonight.

Day 3 and still going strong. I really didn’t want to finish my word count tonight. It was so tempting to just watch a movie and relax, but I forced myself and it went pretty smoothly.

It’s the end of day 1. My goal for today was 2200, and I made that. But I expected to be at a much higher word count at this point in the story. Obviously I have to add some more subplots if I’m going to make it to 50,000 words!

Well, I have started. Here I am midway through the first day and I’ve written a little less than half the work count for today. So far so good, right? Hopefully it will continue this way!
