How to rip my cds
How I did it: I had two huge racks of CDs taking up a ton of space in my tiny apartment, so I decided to finally commit to getting them all digitized.
I bought a 2TB hard disk and got to work creating lossless FLAC rips using EAC in secure mode. I figured that if I was going to do this, I was going to do it right.
I have a second PC at work and a job that's not very hard so I installed EAC on there. At my peak I was bringing 20 CDs to work every day and bringing them back on a flash drive at night.
I still prefer physical media, so I'm keeping the discs boxed up at my parents' house. When I have more living space I will once again proudly display my collection, although probably with some of the more embarassing items omitted. :)
Lessons & tips: Go lossless from the beginning. If you rip to FLAC, you'll be able to convert your music to whatever other format you like without quality loss. You'll never have to rip the discs again.
