i wish i could talk to animals 2 years ago

i would happliy give up talking to people if i could talk to the animals. My bunnies are on meds atm and they are soo scared of me incase I am giving them more meds. I just wish there was a way to tell them how much I love them and how I am trying to make them safe and well. I also worry because bunnies are good at hiding pain and its easy to have a very sick bunnie and not know. With my cats I almost feel I can talk to them. I certainly know them and when something is wrong more. I think that some animals would have something interesting to say.

I think I challenged the alpha male... 2 years ago

There were about 8 monkeys in one of the enclosures at Edinburgh zoo. As I watched them one of the monkeys looked back at me. He began repeatedly jerking his upper body forward in my direction and slapping both hands on the bars of the cage in front of him, pausing to look hard at me (almost challengingly) and then doing it again, and again, and so on. No other human was around so I looked at the monkey and imitated his motions back toward him.

Immediately every monkey in the cage stopped their various activities and looked at me. The monkey and I took turns to repeat the jerk & slap movement toward each other, the audience still very attentive. After a couple of minutes of this the monkey stood up, turned full circle, then slapped the bars again. I copied him, turned full circle, slapped the rail and looked at him.

Abruptly every single monkey in that enclosure jumped onto the bars with their hands and feet, shook the bars like crazy, and screamed at me. Whatever I’d said it had meant something very definite to them. I’ll probably never know exactly what. I think I may have challenged the alpha male!

I've always talked to animals... 2 years ago

... and they’ve talked back to me. Anyone can understand their replies – you just have to listen & watch.

I’m often chatting with my cat. I talk and he answers me with his eyes, the tilt of his head, the movement of his tail, and other things. He knows exactly what I’m saying all the time. It’s not the words he understands, instead he “sees” the pictures in my mind as I talk (at least, that’s what he tells me). I don’t have to say “din dins” out loud, just think of saying it and imagine a yummie dish of his favourite food… and his eyes light up.

We often talk about feelings – his or mine (or both). We really understand each other on this topic because we have the same body language for the same feelings. Also, there are little movements we’ve learnt to recognise in each other than mean certain, very definite things.

We can talk with just our voices too, then what we say to each other is all in the tone:

Me: Purrrreow?
Him: Prr
Me: Aerrrr
Him: Yaowoowoowoo
Me: RrrrRRRrrrRR
Him: PurrrrRR

Means:
Me: You Ok?
Him: Yep, thanks for asking.
Me: I’m so glad to be back home with you
Him: I’m glad you’re home – missed you.
Me: Oooh I love you so much.
Him: I love you too. Now please follow me to my dish.

good listeners 2 years ago

animals listen very well. most people dont listen when they talk back, so they stop talking to them, so now you should try to hear them.lol
