yessssssssss
isn’t it weird how even when you do well in the class you’re still afraid the teacher will find something at the last minute to drop you down a grade? I was terrified to look at my final grade just now.
BUT I DID IT! Now for round two.
Took the final exam today, find out my overall grade tomorrow. I have high hopes!
I meant to ask the teacher if he would write me a recommendation letter for my pharmacy school application, but chickened out. Maybe the impersonality of email will help me make the request.
It’s not a cumulative exam (which I think might actually be easier since I know the material from chapters 1 to 15), but a fourth exam over chapters 16 to 19, which we had 3 days of class to review. I’ve never taken a summer class before so I’m amazed by how quickly they go by. I hope I’m properly prepared for the biology sections of the PCAT…
Anyway, I’m studying very hard right now. Chapter 16 is on DNA replication and I’m slowly working my way through it (helicases, single-strand binding proteins, topoisomerases…).
And the teacher said, “You are a very focused student. It is a pleasure to have you in my class.”
!!!
gahhhhh the second exam is today and there is sooooo much to know! Stupid ATP-producing reactions in eukaryotes! Stupid photosynthesis and light-dependent reactions and pigments and Calvin-Benson cycle!
I was kind of suprised that I only got a 96% on the first exam considering there were 14 extra credit questions, so I looked it over and it turns out the exam was graded wrong! I actually got 106%! That’s a good buffer for the next exam. I’m happy. No way of knowing if I got the highest grade in the class but I think I might have!
This class is very intense – our first exam was on the 5th day – but I seem to be doing well. I got 100% on the first quiz (quizzes are worth 15% of the final grade) and 96% on the first exam (4 exams, worth 50% of the final grade). I may have trouble with the laboratory papers though – I am three behind, but he isn’t penalizing for late lab reports from the first section because of the fast pace of the class.
But so far so good, overall!
