In my recent search for family vacation ideas I found kids can travel. The website has original ideas for family travel and tools to facilitate vacation planning. Yes, kids can travel! Both the kids and I are eager to embark on our next family adventure.
The site may prove to be of interest to you. It’s certainly worth taking a peek! http://www.kidscantravel.com.
My dad is turning 90 next week, so we’re going to Detroit to celebrate. That’s the only opportunity for travel in all this time.
The kids are so busy now. Their schedules are different. This has been hard to implement.
The last family vacation we had was in 1999. The whole family went to Puerto Rico. My husband and I stayed at a nice resort and the children took turns staying with a cousin. It was expensive. My husband was so stressed from missing work that he made everyone around him stressed also. He took his laptop along and tried to answer email and get some work done while on vacation. My cousin vowed never to buy a computer after meeting him. Prior to that our only other vacation as a family was in the early 90s. I don’t even remember the year. We were going to Key West, and the day before we were to leave, my husband said he had to go on a business trip. So I took my mother and went anyway, with three small children. Getting there was such an ordeal. But we stayed at a nice resort and, again, it was expensive. Last summer I took two of the children and drove around Lake Michigan. It was so relaxing. Didn’t cost much. Didn’t take a lot of planning. The kids were old enough to help with the driving. I vowed to take more vacations like this one.
