Each week, when my husband and I get paid, we each put $25.00 into our saving account. We put other money into the account whenever we can, but we always put at least $50.00 per week in.
By the end of the year, we will have saved over $2600.00, and we don’t even miss the little bit we set aside for this. It’s very painless and it really adds up.
This is WORTH DOING!

Just started a new job a few months back and recently became eligible for the 401(K). I have some other bills to tackle, but for now I’m having $25 taken out of each check – before taxes – and I find I truly don’t miss it.

Its not much, but its better than nothing. I’ll try this for a while and possibly increase the amount if I see fit. Also, If I happen to get a second job, I’ll definitly up the anty.

I’m putting this money in my daughters college account where she puts half of her paycheck to go toward college expenses the year after next…I figured if I managed to do this for 2 1/2 months that by the end of the year it would be habit and I could keep doing it and help her earn money for school…I’ve also thought about getting a part time job and putting that whole check in there…but I felt that would be unfair to my younger child because that would essentially take all the time I have to spend with him away from him…and money can never be more important than the time we have with our children when they are little. I’m sure that with finanical aid, what she’s saved, the things my parents did to help her with college, and maybe even some student loans that she will make it though just fine…but I won’t get a second chance to be there for my son as he grows up.
