squirrella admits life is full of surprises.
I cried.
How I did it: The first time I heard about it, I wanted to go see it and then my friend went to go see it, so I was hesitant to go see it. My parents had bought it. So one day I finally went to go grab it from them popped it into the DVD player and cried til the very end. It was a beautiful movie.
I saw the movie the very first day that it came out on video. It was an interesting perspective. I think the best thing I got from it is quotable lines to insert for good humor at any time. Anytime you call someone “Jack Nasty” it’s funny. This guy at the store that was working the register had a shirt on the other day that said “I can’t quit you”. There is classic Brokeback Mountain humor you are missing out on if you don’t see the movie!
all the buildup made this movie seem like it would be incredible. and there are bits of it that i think are very good. like a lot of the dialogue for instance. but it was really just too slow and the director kind of dragged it out. i’ve seen it three times and it’s left me bored each and every time. the song for the movie though is great. Rufus Wainwright is awesome. The movie just didn’t measure up.
Bored? Almost didn’t finish it. And, yes, I am a faggot head. It’s not that. It just wasn’t very good. A lot of potential, but just unsatisfying in the end.
Was under the impresion that it was going to be a western. Very very disapointed.
Des is slowly regaining her sanity (unfortunately?)
It didn’t stick with me, though. Often I measure a movie in terms of whether it affects my life in some way or whether I find myself thinking about it again afterward. This one didn’t make much of an impact on me. (Although maybe I might think twice next time a man says he’s going away fishing with a buddy for a week.) Worth doing, but I don’t care to do it again.

Excellent film! So sad. It made me want to read Proulx’s short story. She’s a fantastic writer. The Shipping News was really good. So yes, SEE THIS MOVIE!
I’ve seen it twice now, great film though I only when the music played at the end did I shed a tear.. maybe it was cos of the build up or something though some bits are wonderful
