Until I have more time.... 2 years ago

this is going on the back burner… It doesn’t change the way I lead my life, nor the way I believe… or practice my faith, just the ‘title’ that I am… for a time being.

    I'm wondering... 3 years ago

if there is any way I could do this without being close to a church?

Have you ever realized... 3 years ago

that morals and beliefs are passed down from generation to generation? My mother’s side is good hearty Southern Baptist (actually my grandfather had a radio show that was broadcast throughout the deep south from 1930 to his passing in the mid 50s and my mother’s brother was one of those dynamic preachers at the pulpit).

My father’s side is what I would term a religious mutt. A bit of everything.

In the course of doing my family history I’ve been able to research religions as well. I have Catholics, Muslims, Buddists, Later Day Saints, Methodist, Lutheran, Jewish, Amish, Brethren, and Mennonite. (The latter three are very closely related, but seperate.)

In researching the Mennonites I’ve realized that my beliefs closely align with their philosophies. Now, before you place me with a cap on my head and sitting all day at a quilting bee, know that that is not the district for me. (Part of the same, but too disciplined for my personality).

More to come, sooner or later… ;)
