got my hair done.
and got a curling iron, so I can style it at home, using a curling iron is harder than I thought.
How I did it: I finally made an appointment for color and a cut. It's been about 2 months for color and 4 for the cut. Lately I have been slacking off on my hair despite some inspiration back in December. I wear glasses and can never watch the stylist while she does my hair. This time I paid very careful attention to the way it felt and noted the size of the round brush she used.
Lessons & tips: Start with the back. This seemed counter intuitive (I RARELY even think about the back because of the curl in the front) and then she put it up on both sides. Then went to the side with less hair and blew it out and then the right side and then finally the top part of my head. I normally don't dry it, but when I do it's the complete opposite way!
Resources: $, making the appointment by phone, previous experience, treat to go to TCBY as an incentive!

I was never allowed to cut my hair as a kid, trim yes, cut no. When I was 21 I shaved the real deal mohwak into my hair… well had its shaved in for me. 2 years I kept it, then I started my own biz and figured that I needed something a lil more official looking… and I was tired of being ‘sirred’. Shaved it off… kept it short for a while, various stages or length, then stopped cutting it all together. Just let it grow, and here I am almost a year and a half after I stopped keeping it short and I have no idea what to do with my hair… ill post pics for the various stages I spoke about. And then perhaps some of the things that I’ve learned/am learning to do with my hair… but that’s not for today.

Now I need to get together some pictures and ask lots of questions. I need to be assertive of my abilities, willingness, and wants! I want to look good!

I need to make an appointment with the colorist and stylist. I just hate shelling out the cash. This and getting my desk organized seem so simple, but I just haven’t done them!

I picked a date to call to make an appointment and I also looked online after a tv segment. This girl that’s my age and a fantastic designer had some pretty wavy hair like mine, but was making a messy look look chic and fantastic. I googled her and will likely take it to my stylist for more ideas. The wave may stay!
I finally learned how to wield my flat iron – my hair is all straight and shiny today, and I did it myself! _
I went to an Australian Fashion Week parade yesterday and got a little dressed up and straightened my hair – looked good and it took less time than I thought it would. First time in a while.
Ok, since the last entry I haven’t really tried any more times, but hopefully when I’ve got the time my hair will improve. It’s in good condition though so that’s a plus.
This week I promised my hairdresser I would use the GHD at least once before I see her in 6 weeks. So far I’ve managed 3 times trying to put lovely curls in my hair. I’ve figured that I need a little bit of practice on this. Curls take a bit of work.
