Okay, first of all I’m not going to spoil anything. But after logging 80 hours of game time I guess I was expecting a little more for an ending. If I had played the game continuously it may have flowed better. But I did like the ending.
I did not beat Emerald and Ruby weapons. Even after breeding the gold chocobo and getting Knights of the Round, they were still a handful. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the extra week to lvl up materia and take them out. Maybe I’ll save it as a challenge for another day…
All in all, I feel that FFVII is proof that not all video games are a waste of time. I felt that it is one of the rare few video games that has the potential to touch the hearts and minds of people. The story was superb and not to be cheesy or anything but I think there was a solid message about the environment and corporations (Oh God here I go sounding like a hippie) in there. And although Advent Children didn’t have much of a story, it was really nice to see somewhat of an epilogue for all the characters. I really like the way that Yuffie and Vincent came out.
Yea…I’m kind of sad that it’s over. I’ve decided to take a break from video games for awhile…maybe I’ll look up FFVIII sometime. But VII and X are going to be hard to top…

Thanks for the earlier comment!
I’ve collected all the ultimate weapons. Finding the key to get into Midgar Sector 5 took awhile, but I’m glad to be done with it. Right now I am Chocobo (in)breeding so I can get a gold chocobo for knights of the round to take out emerald and ruby weapons. Racing them is pretty tough though, I’ve only gotten to “S” with one chocobo. The L1+L2+R1+R2 trick just doesn’t seem to work for me! :\ Anyways, my goal is to beat the game by next Friday with all the sidequests completed and all the materia collected. Wish me luck’
PS- I took bakuyaku’s advice and bought a copy of advent children to watch after knocking out sephiroth ;P

Finally beat the various forms of Hojo. I’m in the process of doing all the side quests and collecting ultimate weapons/limit breaks before taking on Sephiroth. It’s a shame I don’t have Aeris in my party anymore. Anyhow, I’ve logged 71 hours overall but I think I’ve made efficient use of it.

After playing the PC version for a while, I decided I should buy the PS version, because it’s easier to get into games when you have a controller. The downside was that it was so expensive. I got outbid so many times it was ridiculous.

I’ve had Final Fantasy VII for about four years now, but I’ve kept putting off playing it and finishing it. (despite many of my friends raving about the game.) Finally, I started playing it this summer. Now that I’m finished, my first urge is to play it all over again. The storyline, characters, and designs are all interesting and intriguing, plus it has the best gameplay elements from both the 2D and 3D Final Fantasy games. (it seems to bridge the gap, which is good.)
I love it. I wish I had played it sooner.

This was the first game in the series I beat all by myself. I love this game! After you beat it, go watch Advent Children!

didn’t beat either of the weapons… I didn’t think I’d finish it so soon, and didn’t realize the north cave was the end of the game… sigh and I overwrote my savegames from outside the cave, so I can’t even go back :(
