Well I am no longer in OZ, but I have found a place to hanglide and a friend who is keen to go too,
The weather is getting warmer, which is good as winter was just too cold to do anything like this, I think I may plan to do this in June when I have a weekend free

Is there a place in the cental US that has classes or something? There are some gorgeous river bluffs over by the airport it would be cool to glide around…
How much does a hangglider cost and what kind of training is needed before flight?

mulysamaybe wonders if she is human or dancer...or what that even means.
I did it! It was only a one day solo lesson, but it’s a start. I had a few hours of flight instruction with Mission Soaring Center (www.hang-gliding.com) and even got some air. I only picked up off the ground about 10 feet at my highest point, but it was still very exciting!

Only did a one week course but it was great.
The stall was dramatic, and forgetting to hook up my seat was something I wont forget again.

i went hang gliding just last year off the sand dunes of north carolina. it was a real rush, great thing to be able to cross off my life list of things to do. not to mention, my instructor bore an uncanny resemblance to johnny depp.
