I just finished reading “Lolita” by Vladimir Nabokov. It’s a crazy book about a crazy subject, but it was very well written. I suppose that if a book can make you actually upset then it is doing a good job.
Definitely a recommended read.

In order to boost my value at games like Trivial Pursuit and trivia night at the bar I’ve set out to read all 100 of the Time Top 100 English-language novels (1923-2005). So far I’ve read the following 15:
The Adventures of Augie March, All The King’s Men, American Pastoral, An American Tragedy, Animal Farm, Appointment in Samarra, Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret, The Assistant, The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, Lord of the Flies, Lord of the Rings, A Clockwork Orange, 1984, On The Road, and Slaughter-house Five.
Of those, I highly recommend American Pastoral, Lord of the Flies, and Slaughter-house Five. The only one that I really didn’t like was All The King’s Men.

I’ve read 19 out of the 100. When I get a chance I’ll come back and list those here.

I decided I wasn’t going to do this because while I love reading, I hate reading just because I’m supposed to. I hope I’ll stumble upon at least some of these books later, but I’d rather be reading something I enjoy than something some critic decided was good.
