Love them, but I guess I’m a typical teenager. Gotta keep the peace, especially with the little ones who look up to me. Wouldn’t want them treating other how I treat them.

its very pleasing to just treat my family with respect instead of getting into fights all the time!
pointillis is working saturday too!!
Three kids, one mom- sometimes isn’t condusive to calm.
But I genuinely believe in not only teaching by example, but also that there is little to no reason to raise my voice. Ever.
Now I am a loud person. Not angry-and-mean kind of loud, but get’s-excited-and-volume-increases-exponentially loud.
But I have been known to raise my voice to get the kids attention. Especially when they are all barreling down the track of not listening and tormenting each other over and over and over until one of them cries out of fury or becuase they got hurt or whatever.
So I have truely been working on this goal. Not just using a quiet voice, but also making sure I don’t snap answers back at them when they are intentionally pushing buttons. My 8 year old son, for example. KNOWS how to push buttons. And I will not raise my voice, but answer in the same sassy tone of voice he used with me. Childish. believe me I know. So I’m done. Calmness. peace. serenity. And I think after I’ve mastered this step, I will move on to showing them kindness with deliberate acts I have thought out. I mean, I also do this already, but more!!!!!
I love my family i really do however i have a problem expressing this love….i know nothing lasts forever and thats the problem right now….thats scary as!!
