We filed the paperwork online last night to open DW’s IRA. She should be getting a phone call today to finish setting it up.

How I did it: We saved up $2000 to open a Roth IRA. I did some research on where the best place to open one is and which kind would work best for us. Once we met our savings goal we opened an IRA online with our bank.

We are currently saving up just to open the IRA. At our bank we need 2,000 to open an IRA for Terri. So we’re building up our savings account for both savings and the IRA. When we reach 3,000 we’ll feel comfortable taking the 2K needed out for the IRA. Right now we are a little over 1500. Just 1500 to go!
