Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Like I guessed in my last entry, I did fluctuate. First 174.4 yesterday, and 175 today. No big deal, I still have Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday left. This goal is going to be in the bag. I can do this! GW 174.2 or less :) I’m going to my mom’s tonight and that might be hard, but we are supposed to be eating grilled mahi mahi, so that should be ok. Tomorrow, we are having brisket at my in-laws. That should be ok if I don’t over-do it. :) Weekends are tough, but I am focused! I really hope my weight loss becomes enough to be noticeable to others soon. 2 years ago

I know I’m a minor fluctuation away from being above 175 again, but that’s ok. Just to know it is possible is amazing.

I just had a nice walk with my husband and 3 dogs.
That was fun! Lets hope the nice weather keeps up so we can do it more often. 2 years ago

Here it is a year later, and I’m still trying to lose! If I had only known this time last year that I would still be fat, and fatter than I was then, I probably would have had a mental breakdown. I haven’t lost 5 pounds in Feb 2012 either, but I have lost 2. CW 177.2..sw in feb 2012 179.8
It was 175.6 until a friend came to visit for 2 weeks. She brought the sugar and we drank wine almost every night. I was back up to 178.6… She left yesterday and I’m 177.2 I’m going to work extra hard to see if I can hit 175.6 or under before Feb 2012 ends. That gives me exactly a week. Oh, and between feb of 2011 and feb of 2012, I did hit 187 pounds; back in september! And that’s when I did have an emotional breakdown. I’m saving my pennies for HCG shots. I did them a long time ago and they worked great! I already have the scrip from my doctor. It’s $200 which I can’t spare right now, but getting there. Until then, I’m losing as much as I can without it. 2 years ago
