DoctorTeeth says, "Oh Sky Cake, why are you so delicious?"
I signed the loan, got the insurance and registration, and filled up the tank of gas earlier last week, and am just now sitting down at my computer to say that I have my new car! It’s a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am, and is a great ride. If I could change one thing, it would be the paint job: it’s teal with sparkly paint, which is a little girly for me. Still: good car, good price, and fits my needs. I’m still a little giddy!

Got a call from the bank today; my car loan has been approved! So now all I need is a letter from my employer…who is closed this week. I’m going to give the car a once-over tomorrow, drive it around and get a good official look, but things are rolling. Just slower than I’d like.

..if only for having a heater in the freezing months. Even my homeless looking ass has limits.

I figure a year at part-time retail wages will give me $5,000. That gives more $3,000 for a car, $1,500 to cover the first year of insurance, and $500 left over. And time to pass Driver’s Ed. But that’s all a year away.

All of the cars I’ve had until now were family cars that I inherited. This year I bought myself a car – a maroon 97 Ford Taurus. I searched on Craigslist until I found something in my price range, called the guy up, test drove it, and bought it up. My boyfriend helped me with the process. It was a rewarding experience, and about time! I’m 23 :)

I own a 94 Plymouth Voyager van and while it’s ugly on the outside it was 1000 flat payment and is the MYSTERY MACHINE! Any Scooby Doo fans should really consider this model of car. I would paint it as the Mystery Machine but the paint would cost more then the car itself. Haha

I can’t believe I’m going to cave in and get a new car. I have to. Driving home last week, my car shook so bad on the interstate, I thought I lost a few parts. I hate to waste money on a car, but I guess that I have to…I’ll try to have fun with it!

Even my 92 year old grandmother makes fun of my car. It’s horrible. Nearly every week something else is wrong with it. The air conditioner has been broken for more than 2 years. The radio/CD player quit working when I got rain in the car when I took Grandma to See Fahrenheit 9/11 at the movie theater. I didn’t get it fixed since I couldn’t stand to hear the news. At any rate, I’m not confident driving the thing more than 30 miles.

I’ve invested almost all my money, but I have my own car:) one day my godmother asked me, how does it feel to lock/unlock my own car, and I said: it feels great..and it really does:)
