get an orchid

Peristeria Elata o dove orchid. In spanish is “Flor del Espíritu Santo” or Flower of the holy ghost because it looks like there’s a dove nesting inside the flower. It’s my country national flower but it’s getting so much harvested from its natural habitat that’s very rare to found one in the wild.

My work got me an orchid today for all my hard work! YAY! It was so meant to be…

Turns out I cannot bring an orchid into AZ or CA, because of their strict agriculture laws. Hence, I will wait until I know where I will live.

Sarah said we should wait until Wallace, her dad, is in town. Then we can go get one from the wholesaler, which is much cheaper. I should be able to get a unique one for less than 30 bucks.

Molly’s siser Sarah has so many beautiful orchids. I had one when I lived in Denmark, and I miss it. You really have to take care of them, but now I know an expert who I can consult. And I know she will babysit it when I go out of town.
