have an eye exam

Making a note for myself, for future reference: in 2009, I had my eyes examined in January & July.

got new contacts! and developed a crush on my eye doctor! handsome, surfer! What’s the etiquette on asking out your eye dr….???

this should be taken care of soon! next I need a dentist appt for my check up and cleaning.

to place this quite specific goal under the much broader, to “take better care of myself”—thus I’m marking this “done.”

next time to skip that particular test. That way I still get most of the tests done and so might have them regularly. I’m sure that’s better than having all the tests done, but then only every couple of years.

And I’m pretty torn about how I should rate this goal: The results were good, but the procedure was awful.

It’s pretty clear to me now, why I had been seemingly resisting this for some time. Must have been some half-remembered experiences from last time.

What gets me is that stuff they try to put in your eyes and the light-procedure following that. I completely tense up, making this very stressful for all involved. And it’s not like I can do something about it, it’s just reflex for me. I felt pretty bad during and after it. And since that stuff left me not seeing right for a couple hours afterwards, the combination left me with a headache too.

But, as I mentioned, the result was good, clean bill of health and my current glasses do not have be changed.

I’m not sure how I should handle this for the next time, as I now know it will again make me push this off as far as possible.

for which I had moved my eye exam, fell through <grumble> I decided not to move the exam another time, but moved the other thing into January now.

should have this marked Done by next Tuesday!

to feel jinxed…

Something has come up and I had to move my appointment. At least I was able to get another one just a week later. I hope this one will work out finally.

I’m set for the Friday following this one !
