I’ve decided to start with four yoga stretches each morning. I’m already doing supta baddha konasona (lying on your back with knees bent soles of the feet touching) and Padangustasana (forward bend) but I’m adding Trikonasana and Adho mukh svasana.
I think I’ll do the four for a month and then see about changing them around. Yoga Journal is good for finding a good posture for particular health complaints or for working specific parts of the body: http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/finder/browse_categories
Pictures soon!

I need to start taking care of myself again. I have been so stressed, and worried, and busy I neglect my body. I’m too sick to run but a little stretching after work today couldn’t hurt.

These past few mornings I’ve been stretching everyday. It really makes me feel more fit. I think it will help with working out in the long run. I will probably have more flexibility and endurance.

I just feel so much better afterward. It helps in so many ways – posture, relaxation, flexibility. I am always on the go, so my biggest challenge will be remembering to make time for it every day until it becomes routine.

sagesiren is savoring the last of her spring vacation (no summer one this year).
so i’m nowhere near every day, but i did stretch a few days ago, and today i actually did some legitimate yoga while listening to american doll posse.
although it’s cliche of me, tori amos really does raise my inner strength.

When I was praticing Capoeira, I was stretching a lot, but since I’ve stopped I haven’t been stretching or warming up as much. I’m hoping to change that and get some really good stretching in everyday.

I need to get going on this! I’ve hardly been stretching at all, and my body feels stiff and tired.

So to do the things I want to do, I have to stretch. Not just daily, but three times a day.
I can already put my hands flat on the floor, and the splits are coming along, though not as fast as I would like.
I also find that its becoming addictive. Especially after sitting too long at the sewing machine. The need to stretch is something new. Like a good stretch when you yawn. Its nice. It also helps with the creaky neck and joints.
Not bad for a 40 year old who never thought about it before.

i stretched, and it felt so much better. it set me off on a great day of getting things done! nothing major on my life list, but just lots of minor annoying things whose deadlines were looming. i felt so great actually getting things done. i think the stretching helped me get off to a good start.
